Demas, Col 4:14

Paul says that Demas was a friend and helper with Paul in prison (Col 4:14). Pauls says again in Philemon that Demas is a fellow-worker (Philemon 1:23-24). But Paul shares with Timothy (2 Tim 4:9) that Demas loved this present world and deserted Paul.

Paul says in Col 3 not to have our eyes on this world, but to keep them on Christ.

I am convicted that I do love this present world. This is revealed in my anger, lusts, selfishnesses. There is always something to take our eyes off Christ. We need to keep them on Christ, not on this present world.
